tatB
I'm thinking about the possibility of having a few moles/freckles on my back removed in preparation for a backpiece. Thinking now is the time to do it because the scar would have almost 2 years to heal before the first session. Question for everyone: Has anyone had moles/freckles/beauty spots removed before getting a tattoo in that area? Question for artists: Would you rather tattoo around a mole/freckle or tattoo over the scar after it is removed? SStu
I've got a raised mole on my back that I'm planning on having removed before I start my back piece next year. I'll be interested in responses on this, too. Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/3834-moles-large-freckles/#findComment-67086 Share on other sites
SnowyPlover
I had a larger dysplastic nevi (irregular shaped, flat mole) removed (basically carved out) years ago and - in fall I will be getting a tattoo where the scar is. The mole area has "repigmented", the scar is a depression and since I have to watch it for melanoma, the tattoo has to go around the scar anyway. On small mole/ freckle removal, you would have to look closely to see any scaring after two years.
