Any good laser places around Long Island/NYC?

I might be moving to Long Island soon and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good place to laser a large black and grey backpiece I have.

I'm looking for a place either in Long Island or NYC ideally but I'm definitely willing to travel within reason.

Does anyone have any experience at all with laser removal in New York, is it more/less expensive than in other states.

Any info would be pretty helpful as I would be quite new to the area.

I'm 2 hours from NYC, but like most things, location indicates pricing. The pricing in Manhattan will likely be 25-50% higher than on LI, but the options out there will also be far fewer.

Also, you'll find that the "med-spas" will typically be slightly more expensive over specialists.

Depending when you're planning on coming over, start watching groupon.com and livingsocial.com, both are losing steam but crazy deals can be had on multiple treatments that will save you a ton.

Specifically talking about your tattoo, black / grey react the best, fade the fastest from treatments, so you're probably a really good candidate to totally remove them.

Having worked in the city a year and a half ago, I still have a few connections up there, let me see if I can find some recommendations for you.

I had my first treatment on Friday and my tattoo has faded way more than I thought it would right after the first session.

I've been reading the stories on this forum about the first session being quite painless and even though my patch test hurt like hell I thought the guy would turn it down for the full treatment seeing as my tattoo is quite big so I wasn't too worried. Well, I should have been because he kept the same settings as the patch test and boy was I in for a surprise.

There's no swelling or blisters though, it's just still quite red but it's all looking pretty good so far.

awsome, dude. i think immediatly after the first session youll notice (or i did, atleast) a lot more fading right off the bat then you will (or i did) during round 2. i got some test patches done before treatment last week that were just INSANE. the tech hit me twice before finding a good setting, which was still cranked and hurt like shit!

good luck, dude. hope you keep us updated.

I thought I'd post a few pics before and after my first treatment, the results so far have been quite better than what I expected although I suppose the fading will not be as significant as the treatments progress but so far it's looking pretty good.

This is the original tattoo, you can notice at the bottom the patch test which I had a week before taking this pic:

This is two days after the first treatment:

This is one week after the first treatment:

Sorry about the difference in the lighting, I hope you can still get an idea of how much has faded.

@Mike Panic - It only took around 15 min although that was probably the longest 15 min in my life.

@YOMONEY - I'm removing the whole thing and I'm not planning a cover up, we'll see how it goes but hopefully there won't be much of it left in the end, I don't mind if there's a few lines and spots left here and there, I guess time will take care of that eventually.

The time seems about accurate, I'm doing a full back piece on someone now with a wider back, far more work. Their first sitting covered just under 1/4 of their entire back and he sat for 19 minutes. Thinking he was going to be a tough guy and sit for his entire back, I stopped him there. He called me the next day and thanked me for stopping, said he didn't want to seem like a sissy for tapping haha.

Just follow the aftercare you where given, it's so crucial I can't stress it enough. You'll see lots of fading in the greywash over the next 2-5 weeks, and the line work will continue to become less sharp too.

The aftercare instructions I was given were pretty simple, just put some ice on it in the first 48 hours to eliminate the swelling and keep the area moisturised using aloe vera.

I know you were recommending another product but I'm not sure if they have it in the UK.

I thought I should use the moisturiser only until the skin heals and it seems healed now, do you think I should continue to use it anyway?

well either way man, that shit looks like itll be ghost in no time.

i was just doing a lot of reading about clays. like bentonite clay and diatomaceous earth (which ive been mixing with water daily). theyre known to pull metals and all toxic crap straight out your body. the idea is that most of all toxic crap is positively charged, while these clays are negativley charged. so they just suck all of the stuff right up and than you crap it out.

i came across claims that bentonite and fullers earth can remove tattoos? there is no documentation, so i really dont know..

but it makes a lot of sense, that if a laser hits a tattoo and breaks ups the ink that these clays could suck the loose particles right out.

i have no idea if itll work or not, but im looking into getting some bentonite clay to get like an arm cast thing going with it..

from what i understand with bentonite clay you do (make like a mask thing). ive started taking the diatomaceous earth with water already. i seriously dont understand biology that well, but it seems like it makes sense. sort of like the thing about using a handheld massager, which i read about on here some guy doing. i dont know if it works or not, but in theory, seems like it would..

food grade from a local and trustworthy company here. all of this stuff has to be food grade or will fuck you up! for instance, i think its bentonite (not the food grade), that they use in auto shops to soak up oil spills.

yeah, i mix it with water. was doing it once daily before i read more about this stuff, now im doing it in morning then again at night.

I'd continue for minimum of 14 days. Just because topically things are OK doesn't mean the underlying skin isn't still dehydrated.
