It's been hard to miss the announcements about this all over instagram recently, who is excited for it? I'm really looking forward to it and am really hopeful that this is a proper non-professional equivalent to Tattoo Artist Magazine and while it's maybe unrealistic to expect the depth of that magazine (when I was last getting tattooed I looked at the issue featuring State of Grace, and they had something like a 50 page feature on that shop, and while I would personally love to be able to have access to things like that I think it would be alienating to the vast majority of people who are interested enough in tattoos to read a magazine about them) I hope it offers real substance for people serious about tattoos, and can help educate people about good tattoos.

Yeah I know but I figured that this should have its own thread. Agreed on the print version. I'd much rather look at photos in a book or in a magazine than on a screen and I'm not sure how I feel about online magazines as I've never really read one, but I think there's a lot of potential here nevertheless.

Really a breath of fresh air! No "hot" women on the cover (I have the internet, there's porn), articles will have actual depth (it HAS depth, just not any technical stuff) and all the artist will actually be good. And you can really sit down with it and read it. Not skim it while taking a shit (unless you have a laptop. Or one of those other gadgets that youngsters have..). Quality!

How come it hasn't been done before...

You doing any writing for them?

I have nothing planned. And there are so many good tattoo artists who can talk to each other, and really get more out of the interviewees (how the fuck do you spell it?!) than me, so... I don't know :)

You had the correct spelling...weird looking word right?

actually, i was searching on ibooks and it's live already!! just search for tattoo culture! you can have a read a week early ;)

i think you can also download it for kindle too, but i'm not sure maybe if someone has a kindle they can search for it on there too? :)

Downloading it on my phone right now. Also I have an Android tablet that I recently got as a gift and don't really know how to use yet, does anybody know how to get this on there? It doesn't show up in the Google Play store when I search for it, but it doesn't show up in the App Store either (I had to get iBooks first), so I assume that I need to download some kind of reader to get it?

They should just print a paper copy of it so morons like me don't get confused.

@Graeme looks like it hasn't launched just yet. Agree on the print copy. I like "real" magazines better than digital

I prefer digital. I have a lot of down time and waiting at work, and its nice to have multiple choices of things to read in my pocket. I switched to a digital subscription of Premier Guitar and its great. Especially since they can embed video and audio.

You can probably download the kindle app for you tablet and then read it through there.

It's basically unreadable on my phone because it's laid out like a proper magazine and so everything is way too small. It does look very promising, however. The Robert Ryan interview seems to be a reprint of the one @Petri Aspvik did for TAM #23 (which I bought a copy of at the Montreal convention last year) and in my opinion, that is great because the TAM interviews I've been fortunate enough to read are fantastic because they are actually really substantial and insightful and I think that people who aren't tattooers but who are seriously interested in tattoos can learn a lot from them, and I am thrilled that I have a chance to read these. There's an interview with @Bunny Switchblade in there too, which is super cool. @Guen Douglas has an article in there on how to look at portfolios...not sure if it's the same article she wrote for TAM, but regardless, it is great that these things are getting out there.

And yeah, I way prefer paper to screens, but this is still rad.

That works, thanks a lot!

Anywhere I can read it without paying for it right now?

I don't have a kindle or anything like that, so me buying the Kindle app wouldn't make any sense.

Kindle apps are all free. No need for a kindle either. Use an amazon account to access the read.amazon.com link I posted earlier
