Lynae Fearing and Tracy Rathbun, wives of celeb chefs Dean Fearing and Kent Rathbun, have launched DUO, a center for patrons of the food world that features a highly edited list of kitchen necessities. Celebrating the recent opening of DUO, the Chef Showdown event on January 13 will welcome guests to a culinary competition with Team Lynae-Tracy versus Team Dean-Kent each creating several sampler dishes. KENT RATHBUN

Kent Rathbun is the James Beard Award–nominated chef and restaurateur of numerous Dallas-area restaurants. He draws on Southwestern, Mediterranean, American, Cajun/Creole, and Pacific Rim influences to produce his signature blend of flavors at his restaurants Abacus, Jasper's, Blue Plate Kitchen, and ZEA WoodFire Grill. In 2008, Rathbun competed on Food Network’s hit series “Iron Chef America."

Dean Fearing is known as the father of Southwestern cuisine. He is chef/partner of Fearing's Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, which was named Restaurant of the Year and Table of the Year by Esquire Magazine in 2007 and No. 1 in Hotel Dining in the U.S. by Zagat in 2009. Winner of the James Beard Foundation Restaurant Award for “Best Chef in the Southwest,” Fearing was executive chef at The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas for over 20 years.
