Made my appointment with Antonio Roque the other day, June 5th. He's the first artist I've been a little starstruck with, I've followed him on Instagram and Facebook forever. Traditional butterfly under my traditional eagle/rose.

But seriously though, no I'm not 100%. I have two ideas and I'm leaning toward one. His assistant said he would love both. Man bun. Sorry, it has nothing to do with a man bun but I can't stop saying man bun and man bun lifestyle. We just went out to dinner. It's the chocolate flourless cake talking.

I have to be honest @TrixieFaux/ @DJDeepFried, I have not yet seen a bearded, man bunned, man head tattoo. Come to think of it, I'm quite surprised, given I live on the Eastside and the beard and the bun are a common enough sight. Do it! Then get a Friday 14th tattoo so you can be uber hip like that.

It'll be cool then to see what you really get when the time arrives.

After four or five years without getting a tattoo...I've got an appointment with Jeff Zuck in less than a week! I'm getting a lightning bolt ripping through a heart -- on the side of my head. It's a bit more involved than that, you'll see. I'll be sure to post up in the appropriate thread.

I have looked at tattoos from Rick Lohm. I also looked at getting a tattoo from Chris Chisholm from Halo as well but he never got back to me. Do you have any other work from Lohm?

Finally getting tattooed by Jonas Nyberg in a few weeks. Five senses bowl in the armpit.

I all ready really liked the motif and had decided I wanted Jonas to do my armpit but was just not sure what to put there. Then I got inspired when I saw the one that Jeb Maykut did and put 1 and 1 together. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you and you are just waiting for someone to point it out with a big neon sign haha.. Also, now I am breaking my self-imposed no more skull tattoos-rule, but who cares.

I'm using an app called event countdown, Its fairly customisable I have it set to weeks and days. Everytime I boom an appointment I set up a new countdown widget on my phone's home page haha :)

It's best to regard our own rules lightly...especially where skull tattoos are concerned. I love when an idea comes together like that. I knew for years I wanted to get my head tattooed and kept thinking of things to put there...I guess it always seemed a bit contrived and life kept getting in the way and put it on hold anyway. Suddenly the idea for this tattoo struck me -- and it had to go where it's going, now and by this artist. @mmikaoj

Yeah, in my defense (to myself) I only have 5 skulls on me and except for 1 they are just part of tattoos, and one of them I didn't see until the tattoo was done. Looking forward to seeing that tattoo from Zuck! He's on my list of people I will travel over seas to get tattooed by, really in love with his work.

The 2nd session on my custom dragon chest piece, is coming up on May 5th with London Reese.

Only feeling a little anxious after remembering how lying down for 4 hours of lines and shading went. Really excited to get some color going though, hoping to get through 6 hours on this next session.:D

Today at noon I start getting color in my arm 3/4 sleeve. :) I'm so excited I can't believe it's fianlly happening. I spent the day yesterday with my hubby and our artist, while he started a giant octopuss on his back. Wow is all I can say.

There is a tattoo convention in Edmonton, AB this weekend.

I wasn't planning on going because I've already got a big project in progress, that is my focus and most real estate is reserved. Also, the Edmonton convention seems to be mostly cup cake and tea cup tattoo artists from the local shops, not really my thing and not a lot of tattooers that impress me. Oh! Jime Litwalk will be there (yawn).

But then I see Matt Gone (checkerboard bodysuit) is hosting. I think it would be fun to get some pics with him because I've been following his progress for years. Danny Trejo is the celebrity guest but I'm not paying him $50 to get my photo taken with him.

So I think me and my wife are gonna go check it out, see the trashiest and most interesting tattoos in town, maybe enter our matching Chris David eagle tattoos into the best traditional tattoo contest. I think it will be funny too if I show up to the best small colour contest in my underwear with tattoo bodysuit and enter my silver dollar sized mantis lol. My buddy is also planning on going, he's got a Paul Jeffries back/arms/chest plates so I'm expecting him to lay a whooping on the best large colour. No backpiece contest though, but trad, script, realism, sleeve all have their categories...bizarre

Also there are a few tattooers I'd be into watching work...Danny Gordey, Seve, Miles Kanne (catch up and show him how tattoos he did on me 7 and 10 years ago have aged!), Stace aka Water Street Phantom, BJ Betts. Hopefully I will see "Snake Man" this old cat in town who always struts around shirt-off in the summer, covered in old school snake tattoos. Maybe there will be some unknown cat there that will catch my eye, maybe an opportunity to get a small tattoo, who knows stranger things have happened! I think it will be fun to walk around with my shirt off and have candid conversations with tattoo lovers.

I've only been to 1 tattoo convention...it was in 2005 years ago and I won best large B&G for my Escher dragon. Maybe I enter that tattoo again now that it is 10 years old!
