Don't want to start a new thread for this, but holy shit is this "Bad Ink" show on AE bad!

I was really blown away as to how bad it was. The idea that a supposed tattoo show consisted of 20 minutes of insulting folks for their bad art and about a minute-thirty of actual tattooing was a real surprise. It's a complete train wreck of a show.

And how many cover-up shows do we need? At least the one on TLC focuses on the tattoo process, but it's getting ridiculous.

I agree! Watched one episode but seemed like the tattooers on that show aren't good.

yeahh. the episode I saw had this babe with a weird pam anderson tattoo near her butt crack. the 2 dudes perved out and made jokes for most of the episode, and then the coverup she ended up with was worse looking than the original tattoo.

yikes, found a clip on the a&e website. wish they showed the tattoo she left with. so bad.

I saw that episode, it was unwatchable. I couldn't make it to the end. It's amazing the crap people think is good. I'm on a musicians forum and there is a thread where people post their tattoos and 99% of them are awful. Wobbly lines, atrocious drawing, patchy color, and all you hear is "sick ink bro."

I dunno. I don't watch these shows, but when I saw the commercial for the show I couldn't help but say to my wife, "are those tattoos even real, they look like they were drawn on with Sharpies and then covered up with acrylic paint".

Shhhhhh..everything on tv is real

You might be right. @TrixieFaux & I just watched the pilot -- and those "tattoos" look hella fake.

People say hella in socal now?!? I mean not that it really matters, but we used to catch so much flack for it from folks down yonder.

Well, if by people you mean my husband...yes. But what does he know--he's from Boston. ;)

I say "wicked" at least once a day. And I always thought "wicked" was a New England thing.

It is! We are both from New England... I used to say "wicked" to make fun of people saying "wicked". Until one day when I realized it had become second nature. Now I like it all the more because I miss Boston.

I think @DJDeepFried is just still trying to assimilate to CA culture by switching over to their terminology...whether it's SoCal or NoCal...and even though he's lived here for about 20 years already.

Yah -- wicked pissah, mush.

I might have to watch Inkmasters tonight... I'm really curious as too how much they sensor Troy Denning... He's even curious, at least according to his Instagram.

Apparently the answer is a lot. They barely showed him and I was looking forward to a epic smack down. Those tattoos were awful. Not one of the contestants in the last two years could pull off a Japanese tattoo. I always assumed it was a fairly popular style, but none of these people seem to have any interest.

When Made Rich or what ever his dumbass name is insulted Japanese tattooing as simple and I attractive, I was waiting for Denning to come over the desk and smack him.

Everyone on the show is a "portrait specialist" or into photo realism. I don't get it.

Yea so true. There's no diversity when it comes to their styles.

Aren't portrait artists quite rare to come across?

Either way I completely agree with a comment I saw here the other day, where the whole show is scripted.

And the fuckin editing. Holy ADD.

My buddy said something brilliant, that Dave Navarro looks like a wizard. haha yup.

I call him Ladyface Navarro.

I wish I was the person that created that sound that's used in every reality show for when they start talking about something "bad" about to happen or what's coming up after the break.....it's literally in every single reality show. I saw a brief promo clip online of this stinkmasters and it has it too. hahaha

I had to check out the clips on spike's website from the last episode since they were doing Asian tattoos and tatu baby's lion being an actual lion makes me cringe and laugh out loud in equal parts. I'm going to have to watch the whole thing when it's available and admit to myself that as awesome as I think tattoos are I also love horrible tattoos (on other people) because they're often funny.
