How to prepare the tattoo station?

Step 1: Cover the entire table with clear plastic Since tattoo artists deal with a lot of blood and bacteria in the tattoo studio, be sure to always use plastic over the entire table of the tattoo station to ensure that the plastic sheeting is changed each time a new client enters, resulting in more hygiene and cleanliness. Step 2: Place the dental bib on the table A dental bib can be very helpful for any liquid spills that occur during soaking tattoos. Step 3: Add the machine thread to the binder This will protect your machine cord and wires from any problematic situations during the tattoo. It will also make the wire completely tangle-free. Step 4: Place the machine and needle With the entire workstation thoroughly cleaned and covered, it is now finally time to place your tattoo machine and needles. Make sure to wear gloves when handling the machine and needles. Step 5: Set up benches, chairs, armrests, etc. Set up the environment of your tattoo station for the convenience of your customers. Don't forget to add a thin layer of clear plastic to these spaces to maximize hygiene. Step 6: Place 1-2 rubber bands around each machine Although the tattoo station may be small, it is best to maintain resistance when using multiple tattoo machines on the tattoo station. Rubber bands can help hold the tattoo machine. Step 7: Place the required number of pre-tear tissues A paper towel is necessary during the tattoo. It is best to keep it close at hand rather than running it during a session. Step 8: Cover the machine and any liquid bottles with a clear bag  Again, take sanitary measures for your clients! Step 9: Place the ink caps on the ink cap tray and cover with cling film (cellophane) This will prevent any unwanted contamination, dust, or dirt from appearing on the ink while waiting for your client to arrive for the next tattoo! Step 10: Clean the area with alcohol While your tattoo station is clean enough, never forget to wipe down the area at least once with an alcohol solution to sanitize the space and prepare it for the tattoo!

Tips for optimizing your tattoo session

Let's take a look at some tips that can be very helpful in starting a tattoo session. Keep your sharps container nearby but away from handrails or any space that could hurt your client during the session.

Final Thoughts

Each tattoo station setup process is unique to different tattoo artists. However, this is just the foundation. As long as you maintain all hygiene and sanitation protocols during the tattooing process, you are free to make adjustments. Have your equipment ready to go at least 15 minutes before yrrives, and then you're ready to start your tattoo session!

    • Tattoos have been passed down since human origin, and tattoo engineer has improved the design many times. Whether it is the early hand needle or the current 3D tattoo technology. It not only witnessed the industrial process from handicraft to fully automatic. It also witnesses the change from street culture to mainstream art. Nowadays, tattoos are more often an artistic activity for people to show their individuality and beliefs. However, tattoo beginners don't know how to choose a tattoo machine. I will share the difference. Coil tattoo machine    We know that the traditional uses the electromagnetic principle to act on the up and down movement of the armature to achieve needle penetration and contraction, while the tattoo pen uses the high-speed rotation of a small motor and torque to act on the tattoo needle to achieve penetration and contraction. Many tattoo artists highly praise tattoo pens because of their lightweight, low noise, and easy operation.  Tattoo Pen Machine    The is actually a type of tattoo machine, which combines the shape of the tattoo gun and the pen. Make a tattoo creation more comfortable. At present, many tattoo artists appreciate tattoo pens. Compared with traditional tattoo machines, it has the advantages of low noise, lightweight and convenient operation. The disadvantage is that a dedicated tattoo needle must be used, and the loss is relatively large. In fact, the working principle of the tattoo pen is basically similar to that of the traditional ones, except that there is an additional torque movement principle.   In addition to the obvious difference in appearance, the coil tattoo gun and the tattoo pen have different structures and transmission methods. The tattoo machine is a traditional one, also called a coil machine. It uses electromagnetic principles to drive the coil to spray and suck. The needle moves up and down. The transmission mode of the tattoo pen is a motor, which drives the transmission rod through the motor, and then drives the needle tip to move up and down, so that the force is more even. The needles used by the two machines are different. The traditional tattoo gun has a long needle handle and the needle is relatively cheap. The needle of the tattoo pen is short and easy to replace, and the price is slightly more expensive. Advantages and disadvantages The two types of tattoo machines have their own advantages and disadvantages. The traditional machine is easy to control the color of the needle, the light color transition is natural, and the traditional large-area coloring is easy to master. The disadvantage is that it is troublesome to change the needle, troublesome to adjust the machine, and the machine is too heavy and difficult to control. There are two types of machines for lining and shading. A tattoo artist needs two or more machines to make a tattoo. Because the tattoo pen has no shrapnel buffer, it has a strong force to penetrate the skin. It takes a certain skill and time to get used to making light colors. However, the body is light and easy to change the needle. You can use a tattoo pen to do lining and shading. The tattoo pen is also the future trend of tattoo tools. After all, it is relatively easy to operate, and improving work efficiency is the general trend. Tattoo pen or tattoo machine, which one would you choose?
