I had been wanting this tattoo from Laurent for two years! It was a total fluke that it came to fruition on my trip. While Theo was working on my mermaid, I told Laurent that I really wanted a kewpie in a horseshoe from him some day. He was like "how does Thursday work for you?". Hahaha...booked and done! @Oiocha

Horitomo. Two sessions, all electric (rotary and coil).  Photos do not do this justice! I will say that first four hours of outlining and shading was super hateful. Of course, I am already considering having him do my left shin. What is wrong with me? 😜

Amazing, how bad did your shin swell up after that?

I don't get to go to Pagoda this year but I did have a little thing done yesterday. Great thing about working with the same person over a period of time. I brought a co worker to her for her first tattoo a few weeks ago and we were talking and she came up with the idea of a vintage suitcase (perfect for me). Didn't really know what to expect and this is what she came up with. She remembered my three most common travel destinations. How can you not be grateful for people like that.

Love it! Always fun getting small one-shots, they almost make you believe tattoos don't hurt.

@Boiled Dove I love your new tattoo! That is a super fun one. For my shin, I was actively managing the swelling. I took it really easy, kept it elevated as much as possible for a few days. It swelled up more after I traveled home which was after the second sitting. My shin didn't swell as much as I thought it would, though. The worst swelling to date was on the back of my left knee, in the ditch. THAT was swollen!

got this little palm tree Friday the 13th banger today,

That's one wicked collection you got, @Dan

Just out of curiosity, how old is your right sleeve? I mean it looks a little bit more faded than your left, but it still looks good.

thanks !

both my lower arms are mostly from the 80's & 90's,

my upper arms/shoulders are newer,

my right arm is still bright,I think the lighting and mix of styles make it look different,

both arms were done in the same time frames alternating back and forth.

Just getting back on with Tapatalk fixed. I LOVE Kewpie dolls! My grandfather had one from Naval service in one of the World Wars (he served in both). I got mine last year to celebrate retirement.

Another souvenir from my trip to Spider Murphys last month by Laurent Trelaun.

Six months of heaven, then they called me to come back on a project 3 days a week. Good money, but looking forward to it ending next month. Finished my bike and rode it to work yesterday!

Thanks! pidjones How's retirement going?

Got this little Keith Haring fella today from an artist named Erik at a shop near me. He was the victim of a hate crime, and I wanted to support his return to work (His wrist was badly injured, and he couldn't work for over a month.) It's tiny. I like him.

I have a couple of new things! I got tattooed by Timothy Hoyer in my state of CO, about a month ago and then headed SF for another session with Scott Sylvia. I’ll post pics soon but I’ve been battling MRSA on my foot. When both are fully healed I’ll post :) what I can tell you guys is that Timothy is a really nice and down to earth guy (it was my first time meeting him). Also, Scott did something that was way too cool. I’ve become friends with him at this point and I was explaining that I lost my collection of flash and prints and I’m in the middle of rebuilding. Him being as cool as he is, he’s gonna send me a ton of prints!!! Couldn’t ask to meet better people with this hobby. I don’t comment often but there are people as obsessed with this thing as me and I knew you guys would find that cool.

Thanks for sharing, @jnin. I loving hearing these stories about the incredible kindness that people can how. It's a good way to start my Sunday. Your MRSA battle on the other hand...OMG. How terrifying. Glad that you are able to get it under control.

Got a shark on my leg from Matt Howse at Idle Hand, and the next day my brother got a similar shark on his right shoulder. Matt's sharks are the best, and he's a great guy. Turns out we went to the same high school. What are the odds?
