Hello,

I'm probably going to get in trouble for starting three threads in one day on LST, but thinks this will be the one that I will be posting continuously on for quite a while.

My major pet peeve on the internet is finding great performances, nearly all musical ones, that were filmed live.

I love impromptu moments, unpolished, unedited (mostly) LIVE performances where great crafts people (singers, musicians, etc.) create something truly startling.

The only way I know that I am seeing such a performance is that it fills me up with joy.

Anyhow, hopes other people know of similar performances that they would want to share.

To Start, B.B. King performing LIVE in SING-SING Prison, 1972

Sweet Man! At first I was like, what is this....but then it took off and in a grand fashion, no edits, one take, awesome.

Thank you for the posting, Shmitty!

Soft spot for songs that tell actual stories, and never hurts to be bit...naughty.

I completely agree! I watched it thinking, Wow....he shut up an entire room....when is he going to start to play.....ohh....shit.....I hope he doesn't start to play.....don't play!!....wow...fucking sweet!

Thank you, I never heard of this guy or his group from the second vid, I kept on thinking Al Swearengen was going to come and bust down the bathroom door any second!

In same spirit of dcostello's first video, this is also something that 'very few can pull off.'

At Comic-Con 2008, an audience member asked Kristen Chenoweth to sing 'something' and this is what she sang, unrehearsed, no preparation, nothing....but an incredibly crafted voice.

Those were sweet Shmitty! One hand guitar playing....yikes!

Temporary Change of Pace:

Edited version for documentary, but wanted to include the interviews to get the whole feel for people who are not familiar with Battle of the Year.

Hello,

Addendum to previous post: If you want to see the complete Battle, it is available in two parts on youtube, tried to put up links, but keeps wanting to put up an embedded video, and wants to save those for distinct videos, since they slow the loading of the page.

Speaking of:

@gougetheeyes

Harlan Ellison is a GIANT and a character of the first order! Neil Gaiman, during the 20th Anniversary of SANDMAN talk at 92nd Street Y, does a terrific impression on him. Why he isn't mentioned along Bradbury as a first tier author is travesty.
